. . . Your United Catholic Credit Union where people are helping people!
Credit unions are rooted in the tradition of people coming together in a spirit of cooperation to help each other. They have been around since the turn of the century. Credit unions were formed out of need because many average working families did not have enough money to make it worth a banker's time to serve them. In order to get access to banking services, groups of people banded together and formed credit unions. The first credit union in North America actually began in a Catholic Parish.
Credit unions are owned by the members and they share in the organization's financial success. Since credit unions are not-for-profit entities, profits are returned back to members in the form of competitive interest rates, low fees and even cash back dividends at the end of the year.
Credit unions are also governed by a volunteer Board of Directors drawn from its members, friends and fellow parishioners. As members of the credit union, the Board of Directors understands the credit union difference and what makes it special. As a result, you can always have confidence that your Board of Directors is placing the members' best interests first.
If you are not already a member, join with others of your faith community today.
